Melissa Borde, CVT

I did my Veterinary Technician internship with Dr. Gerber in 1982.  In 1983, I graduated from MATC-Madison as a Veterinary Technician and started working part-time for Dr. Gerber in April 1985 and have been here part-time every since.

My husband and I live in the country and enjoy four-wheeling in our Ford Explorer.  We also enjoy traveling and seeing the beauty in the rest of the states.  Our daughters have married, so we are “empty-nesters,” and we enjoy spending time with our newly extended family.

My eldest daughter and I enjoy raising, training, showing, and going to trials with our Australian Shepherds.  We compete in conformation, obedience, and herding.  Our kennel, CarMel Kennel, has produced multiple champions, obedience titles, and stock titles with most of our dogs holding titles in all areas.  We are owned by a pack of Australian Shepherds, a Corgi, and three cats.

In my free time, I like to relax by reading books and working in my flowerbeds.
